Plenty of activities for kids, swimming area, playground, and much more. The owners are very friendly. Big plus to having a onsite store and dog friendly. The sites are a decent size with water and electric.
Con's: This place could be the mosquito capital of the world. We spent over $150 in bug sprays and what not and it didn't stop them. Bat boxes I believe would help out here. Owner was upset at our music and came to our neighbor's asking if we played a song too loud and they said they never even heard a thing. Owners dog runs free and came by our dogs plus the dog pooped right next to my camper.
We would probably come back to this place if they did something with the mosquito problem.
We had two sites: one camper and one tent. The sites were very roomy with fire pits and picnic tables and a good combination of sun and shade. We had a nice view of the small pond and used the campground's kayaks for a quick paddle. We enjoyed activities out and about during the days and relaxing, quiet mornings and evenings at the campground.
The bathrooms were really clean. It seemed like the women's bathroom had just been cleaned every time I went in there. And such darling pictures on the walls!

- hauled our bikes to Hustler and biked to the tunnel - very cool!
- geocaching all around including right at the campground entrance
- Buckhorn State Park: hiked, picnic, beach and biked. Google showed bike trails in Buckhorn SP but the paths are very sandy, so we don't recommend biking in this state park!

We had a very relaxing few days here. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. Given the time of year and our Sunday arrival, we basically had no other campers around us. Our site overlooked the pond which was tranquil. Everything was clean and neat. They have an adorable store with ample items. We only had a 2 hour drive, and they are ready to find, well marked. Very close to many hiking trails. They do have many seasonal sites as well.

We were very impressed with our hosts, Randy & Lila and the condition of the campground, very clean, very country, and very convenient to a nearby restaurant (Shipwreck Restaurant) on the shore of Castle Lake, recommended by our hosts. The covered gazebo was a great meeting place for happy hours.
The price is very affordable. The sites are very well-maintained. The owner they’re extremely nice. The pond is a nice little pond to relax and swim. I stayed here for three nights and absolutely loved my stay I definitely would recommend this campground to people. In fact I think I just found my new favorite campground in the area the bathrooms and showers Was very well maintained as well thank you winding River campground for the amazing experience
Pro's: The campground is really a beautiful place. Nice pond to swim in with a Wibit and a raft. Lots of activities for kids. Campsites are pretty good here.
This campground was very adequate for our three night stay while visiting the Dells. The owners are so friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable during your time there and you can tell they are putting great effort into the place.
What a lovely campground. 4 miles off 1-90/94. Grounds are immaculate. Green grass, lovely trees, just well cared for property. Lots of what I would call "seasonal" not "permanents" and all their campers and sites are well maintained (not like some campgrounds with lots of permanents) office was so very friendly. We had site 88 up front and had NO road noise. Water and 30 amp. Definitely appreciated the water flush hose AND sewer hose at the dump. No need to pull ours out. That is an awesome amenity for a quick overnight guest. Our Starlink was not awesome as we had lots of tree cover. it worked but little slower than normal. Definitely recommend and would stay again both either overnight or for a few days. Would have loved to spent time at the pond.
First time staying here and the owners were awesome and more than helpful and so friendly. Quite place to camp although you hear some traffic off Highway 80. They are updating utilities and the camp store is coming along nicely. Highly recommend a stay here.

Great little campground and real nice owners he keeps adding more improvements and they are awesome owners along with Elsie the dog
